WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is for Queensland Licensed Electricians requiring the skills and knowledge to gain the requirements to become a Qualified Technical Person (QTP).

Those who are planning on performing electrical work as a business in Queensland must undertake the QTP training course, which consists of the following units of competency: UEEEL0002, UEEEL0029, UEEEL0030. This course meets the qualification requirements as a Qualified Technical Person for Queensland Electrical Contractors Licence.

PRE-REQUISITE

Those holding an Unrestricted Electrical Mechanics Licence or Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence meet the pre-requisite requirements.
A person cannot become a QTP without a minimum of 2 years with a trade licence.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Participants will need electronic or hard copies of:

  • AS/NZS 3000:2018 Electrical installations (Wiring Rules)
  • AS/NZS 3008.1.1:2017 Electrical installations – Selection of cabled

OBJECTIVES

  • Successful competencies in UEEEL0002, UEEEL0029 & UEEEL0030 to assist in gaining QTP status.
  • Assist in providing knowledge and skills to identify hazards, follow safe work practices, check compliance and safety of electrical installations and report on defects found.
  • Conduct and report on findings of compliance inspections of Single Phase and Three Phase low voltage electrical installations.
  • Undertake voltage drop calculations.
  • Undertake maximum demand calculations.
  • Practical fault finding.

 

Upon successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in UEEEL0002, UEEEL0029 & UEEEL0030.
Successful completion and issuing of Statement of Attainment in the training program will allow QTPs to apply / renew their QTP status under the requirements of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013.
