WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is for persons wishing to become a Qualified Business Person (QBP) for an Electrical Contracting Business in QLD.

UEECD0007, BSBESB402 and UEEEL0040 meet the qualification requirements for a QBP for Queensland Electrical Contractor’s Licence.

PRE-REQUISITE

Unit of Competency UEECD0007 Apply Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and Practices in the Workplace is a pre-requisite for the QBP course and is provided as a distance learning module.

Those holding an unrestricted electrical mechanic’s licence or electrical fitter mechanic’s licence meet the pre-requisite requirements.

OBJECTIVES

Successful competencies in UEECD0007, BSBESB402 and UEEEL0040 will assist in gaining Qualified Business Person status.

  • Legal requirements of setting up and running an electrical business.
  • Navigating the Australian tax laws.
  • Insurance and Workcover responsibilities.
  • Risk management practices.
  • Negotiation techniques and contract arrangements.
  • Quoting.
  • Writing policies and procedures.
  • Assist in gaining knowledge and skill in processes and procedures for an electrical contracting business.

 

Upon successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in UEECD0007, BSBESB402 & UEEEL0040.
Successful completion and issuing of Statement of Attainment in the training program will allow QBPs to apply for their QBP status under the requirements of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013.
